Recipients are selected after a rigorous process where their academics, community involvement, and participation with Los Niños Primero is evaluated. Recipients must be either past students of our Summer Educational Program or have been active participants as Teen Volunteers for a minimum of 2 years.
Rosa moctezuma, 2018 recipient
Rosa was herself a student of the program from 2005 to 2006. Rosa came back as a volunteer once she was of age because she loved her experience as a student and hoped to come back to make an impact on the lives of our children just like we were able to do with her! She will be attending 𝐆𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 in the fall and plans to continue volunteering with Los Niños Primero!
Carmen Morales-Mier, 2019 recipient
Carmen Morales-Mier was involved in our Summer Educational Program at ages 3, 4, 5, & 6! Carmen came back as a volunteer in 2014 and is now in her second year as an LNP Intern! Carmen will be attending Georgia State University in the Fall, where she hopes to follow a career path towards becoming an OB-GYN. Carmen graduated from Riverwood International Charter School in May 2019.
Yair BARRANCA, 2019 recipient
Entering his sixth year at Los Niños Primero, Yair is completing his 2nd year as an LNP intern! Yair graduated May 2019 from Riverwood International Charter School and will be pursing an engineering career path at Kennesaw State University! Yair has served as an LNP Youth Volunteer, LNP Ambassador, and now as an intern. Yair embodies the leadership skills we strive to develop in our youth!
MAson Soto, 2019 recipient
Mason Soto just finished his first year at Georgia State University where he is majoring early-childhood education! Mason credits LNP as his source of inspiration for following this career path. This summer Mason will serve as a teacher’s assistant at a satellite location. This will be Mason’s 4th year being involved at LNP as a volunteer/assistant, but as a child he did also attend LNP from 2003-2006!
